Innovo took to the stage at the Digital Construction Summit 2025 to share insights into the future of the built environment.
Innovo was a gold sponsor of the event and played an important part in the conversation – connecting with partners, sharing ideas and showcasing the ways digital transformation is driving progress in the built environment.
Head of Smart Cities Kinan Sulaiman gave an address titled “When Buildings Start to Listen” in which he spoke about the advancements Innovo is driving in smart city systems and their transformative use cases.
Chief Digital Officer Douglas Zuzic joined a panel discussion on robotics and automation in construction and real estate, speaking alongside industry peers about how new technology is reshaping the sector.
We’re bringing the city to life
In his presentation, Kinan said: “Imagine driving through a city where traffic lights adjust to smooth your commute; where office AC adapts to your personal preferences; where every building knows how to optimise energy usage in real time.
“It sounds like sci-fi – but it’s coming now, and at Innovo we’re making it real. We’re installing these systems across the region to improve urban life and putting cutting-edge technology at the heart of our communities.
“Self-optimising cities are our future. Data is the fuel and AI is the intelligence that allows us to respond immediately, to adapt, to make informed recommendations and also to evolve and learn from the past too.
“At Innovo we’re working with our partners to build this digital nervous system into all our projects and into every area of the built environment. We’re quite literally bringing the city to life, and we’re doing it today.”
Robotics and labour working hand-in-hand
Douglas said: “Right now, on one of our projects, we have a robot on-site laying tiles and paving.
“It’s part of a pilot scheme, helping us explore how robotics could be used more widely across our business. And our early results are exciting – we’re already seeing improvements in speed, cost and quality.
“But this isn’t about robots replacing people. The future we see is one where robotics and traditional labour work hand-in-hand. By combining both, we can deliver the very best outcomes for our projects, our clients and our teams.
“At Innovo, innovation is in our DNA. We’re always looking for smarter, safer and higher-quality ways of working. Robotics is a powerful tool to help us achieve those goals and, together with our partners, we’re shaping how it can transform the way we build.”
