Innovo Academy celebrates graduation of its first internship cohort

The first cohort of Innovo Academy interns has completed an eight-week internship programme.

Innovo Academy is a dedicated learning and development platform, designed to create meaningful opportunities for emerging talents to gain practical experience, develop essential skills and build strong foundations for their future careers.

The programme brought together university students from a range of academic backgrounds. Each participant built workplace readiness, developed professional skills and experienced life at Innovo through a combination of structured learning and practical business exposure.

Getting to know the business

Over the eight weeks, interns took part in learning workshops and spent time with teams across different departments. They also explored how different functions work together across the project lifecycle.

Their learning covered key areas including:

• professional communication
• project and business awareness
• critical thinking and problem solving
• AI productivity
• collaboration and adaptability
• innovation and continuous improvement

Interns also explored departmental processes and reflected on their experiences. They then developed practical recommendations based on what they observed throughout the programme.

Through visits to the site offices of Innovo’s Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital and Ghaf Woods projects, they also gained valuable exposure to project delivery, from early planning through to client expectations and on-site execution.

Bringing the experience together

The eight-week journey concluded with Capstone Presentations. The interns brought together their experiences, observations and ideas and presented their recommendations to colleagues across Innovo.

A graduation ceremony on 7 August 2026 then celebrated their successful completion of the programme.

Connecting with the talent of the future

Mariam Azmy, Chief People Officer at Innovo, said: "Innovo Academy was created with a simple ambition: to make every internship a meaningful development experience. Rather than approaching internships as individual placements, we wanted to build a structured platform where young talent can learn about our business, gain real exposure and develop skills that will support them beyond the programme itself. It is also an opportunity for us to listen to a new generation, benefit from their perspectives and create stronger connections with the talent that will help shape the future of our industry."
